Šumava is the Czech name for the Bohemian Forest. National Park Šumava is a UNESCO 'Biosphere Reserve' and is with 69030 hectares the largest national park in the Czech Republic. It is part, together with the German Böhmerwald, of the largest Middle European forested area and is also called the 'Green Longs of Europe'.

Along this unique natural environment runs the Road number 16910 where the EURO MB2 mixed barrier has been installed.  The project consists in 600 meters of a landscape integrated road restraint system.

EURO MB2 is a mixed wood metal safety guardrail level N2W5 according to the EN 1317-2 European Standard with spacing between 2 and 4 meters.

EURO MB2 elements are pre-assembled to make logistic and installation on building site easier, in particular with a hard ground:

- Post and spacer can be positioned anywhere along the metal beam (including at the level of the transition sleeve of the horizontal beam). The support can be positioned without any difficulty: the spacing between the posts can be from 2 until 4 meters. You can position the support where you want which is practical in hard ground.

- T-head screw system as an integrated installation assistance tool.

- Pre-assembly sleeves allow fast fitting with the following beam. Half of the beam stays on the ground while the second half is fitted, which prevent from lifting the whole beam.
